Found an ETF you want to research further? Explore some platforms that accept Irish residents, understand the costs and check whether they offer the exact fund and listing you need.
This is a starting point, not a complete list or a recommendation for individual circumstances. Not every ETF shown on Rogha is available on every platform. Account approval and product access depend on the provider’s rules.
Capital at risk. Investments can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invest.
Before you buy
Three checks before you start
Availability01
Check the exact ETF
Search by ISIN, the security’s identifier. Match the share class and whether income is reinvested (accumulating) or paid out (distributing).
Check the exchange and trading currency. A EUR listing does not remove currency risk in the underlying investments.
Confirm Irish retail availability and read the required Key Information Document (KID). Check fractional and recurring-purchase eligibility for the exact listing. A search result alone is not proof you can buy it.
Costs02
What does buying an ETF cost?
Check dealing fees per order, including any minimum charge.
Allow for currency conversion and the spread: the gap between buying and selling prices.
Fund charges are deducted within the fund. Do not add overlapping TER and KID figures together.
Check material funding, custody, exchange connectivity and transfer costs.
Commission-free does not mean cost-free. Read the pre-trade cost estimate.
Protection03
What does investor protection mean?
Asset segregation aims to keep customers’ investments separate from a provider’s own assets.
Investor compensation may cover eligible claims when a provider cannot return assets. Limits and conditions depend on the legal entity.
Bank-deposit guarantees cover qualifying bank deposits, not ETF units or money market funds.
None protects against market losses. Check which entity holds your account and where cash is held.
These cards describe cash ETF services. Buying ETF units generally gives you beneficial ownership through custody arrangements. A CFD is a derivative contract, not ownership of ETF units. Fractional holdings have additional terms and transfer restrictions.
DEGIRO
Last checked
DEGIRO offers self-directed purchases of ETF units through its Irish service, with access to listings on several exchanges.
Orders are for whole units; DEGIRO does not offer fractional purchases or automatic ETF buying.
Core Selection trades on Tradegate carry a €1 handling fee. Other ETF trades have a €2 commission plus €1 handling fee under the published schedule.
Currency conversion, exchange connectivity, spreads and fund charges can add to the cost. Check the exact listing and account fee schedule.
Interactive Brokers accepts Irish residents and offers cash purchases of ETF units across multiple markets. Select the ETF security, rather than a derivative linked to it.
Recurring investments and fractional trading are available for eligible ETFs; support depends on the instrument.
Order costs depend on the market, routing and pricing plan. Currency conversion, venue and other service charges may also apply.
Trading permissions and retail-document requirements can restrict access. Fractional units cannot be transferred to another broker.
Lightyear accepts eligible Irish residents and offers selected exchange-listed ETFs, with manual purchases and optional investment Plans.
ETF orders have no execution fee; Plans have no custody fee. Currency conversion is 0.35%. Spreads, fund charges and relevant funding charges still matter.
Plans can automate purchases of eligible fractional instruments. Non-fractional instruments must be purchased separately.
Transfers require supported whole units, matching exchange and currency, and position minimums. Fractional positions cannot transfer; check the current transfer conditions.
Trade Republic’s Irish service offers purchases of ETF units and recurring savings plans through its app-led investment service.
Savings-plan execution has no brokerage fee. The Irish price overview lists a €1 settlement fee for a single trade, or €2 when an exchange with Direct Price is selected.
Spreads, third-party costs and fund charges remain. Review the full price list and order details in the app.
Irish account eligibility includes permanent residence and tax liability in Ireland, age 18+, a supported smartphone, European mobile number and SEPA bank account. Check the exact ETF and listing before funding.
Trading 212 accepts Irish residents. This card covers its Invest account for buying ETF units, not its separate CFD service.
Invest has no trading commission or custody fee. Its currency-conversion fee is 0.15% where applicable; fund charges and spreads still matter.
Eligible instruments can be purchased fractionally. Only whole units can be transferred; fractions remain in an Invest account or can be sold.
Card and alternative-method deposits have a cumulative €2,000 equivalent free allowance, then a 0.7% charge on the excess. Check the terms for your account and funding method.
Providers are listed alphabetically. Inclusion is independent of payment, and Rogha currently has no confirmed paid arrangements for this page. Every provider link is an ordinary official link, with no personal referral code or affiliate parameter.
Any future paid links or sponsorship will require separate approval and clear advertising labels. Payment will not change factual coverage or provider ordering.
Before opening or funding an account
Read the current provider terms and fees, and confirm that your account can buy the exact ETF share class and listing. Check custody, transfer and cash arrangements too. Availability and charges can change after the verification date.
Keep your transaction and currency records. Provider reports do not determine your Irish tax treatment.
